The Holidays Are Coming

Busy week again. Damn! I guess this kind of schedule will roll out to the Christmas season eh?

Just last Monday, while on a leave to renew my driver’s license among other errands, I went shopping for the kids’ halloween costumes just to realize I need to actually make one for the little boy. He wants to be an octopus and I can’t find a ready made outfit online and in the malls so I bought materials from the fabric stores. The little girl will be a witch and that’s a cinch to put together.

Then comes Christmas (is it really just 68 days before we officially say ho-ho-ho?) and I’m just starting to make our long list of inaanaks, family and friends for the gift giving. With the busy schedules, I think we will once again rely greatly on online shopping and bazaars for that one-stop convenient shopping.

One thing I likey about online shopping is that I don’t have to go through horrendous traffic and parking problem. I found to have a lot of nice pieces for moi (hehe), husby, my sister, brothers and friends in one online shop Zalora.

On a personal note, I’m a dress person and I more often wear dresses either to work or even on personal errands and I’m excited to see some lovely silhouettes in the site.  

The weather report says after the scattered rainshowers we experience now, we are looking towards cool climate. The joyous holiday season is just around the corner so better spruce up on Christmas shopping to avoid the rush J

Blue, Blue, Blue

Either it’s the color of my mood the past weeks or it’s the IT hue for me these days.

I just realized that the stuff I bought during those shop-to-feel-good moments are all in blue.

I’m in such a pensive mood right now. So many things running around my mind, things that both excite and worry me. The worry part, I got to share bits of that here. The exciting part, I'll tell more at the right time.

Anyway, nothing more relaxing than a stroll in the mall and exercise a little of that spending power to keep the mind off the worries, don't you agree? Here are a few of my finds (warning: blue overload).

A royal blue (reminds me of my highschool uniform) bag with stones. Bought this at Landmark Trinoma for a wedding with a spring color theme.

This is the dress (and shoes) for the wedding. So spring right? :)

See the detail on the bag's clasp ? It's roomy as well, I can fit my cellphone, mini wallet, lipstick and blush in there.

Blue dress from The Ramp. It's a long back dress, so kikay. I haven't worn this yet but I'm thinking it would look fab with a pair of boots or killer stilletos.

A bag from Linea Italia. I've been looking for a bag that will break the monotonous black, brown and red collection that I have. This is the perfect color (yeah, I know I'm biased that way). It's roomy as well and winged shape. Very up-to-date.

The snaps at the sides keeps the bag's sides (the batwings) closed.

See how everything fits in there? Even my chunky Marc Jacobs shades case has a place.

Lastly, blue matte polish from BK Rose. It's supposed to be a matte polish but it still gives out a gloss once applied. Later I found on the web that you need to apply a matte top coat pa pala. Anyway, I love the color (again, I'm biased) so it's okay. Added a confetti clear polish on one nail :)

Ready for the Rain

It's undeniably rainy season now. This week, we are expecting another thunderstorm so better to stay indoors over the weekend. 

I prefer summer but rainy season is my excuse to strut those booties that have been gathering dust for some time now. 

The first to make a come out party were my Melissa Ashanti boots in black. Yup, it like did a come out debut because people were complimenting my outfit that day, even the boys :) I get 'uy Melissa shoes!', 'nice shoes, and even a 'My Lady Boss' comment from peeps at work.

As much as I love to sleep all day with the cool weather during wet season, I need to get up at 530am on weekdays to get my daughter ready for school and me to work. Rain or shine it's work, work, work so better gear up with weather-proof shoes.
These babies are also waiting for their turn to the rainy outdoors. This photo just made me realize I now have 4 pairs of Melissa shoes :)

Because it's a Thursday and we social media addicts are so into Throwback Thursday or TBT, here I am sharing my chubby toddler photo with my pretty sister. Check out my shoes! Boots pa rin. LOL!

Speaking of rain, there is an outpour of eager movie goers for three weeks now. The craze? Monster's University and Despicable Me 2. I wasn't able to take a photo of the line in SM North but it was unbelievable! We were supposed to watch in Trinoma but tickets ran out. Crazy right? 

In SM North, JCo Donuts popped a new store near the cinema so it got confusing where ticket and donut line was.

We joined the bandwagon of movie goers (because we promised the kids movie date) but went for the movie that has shorter line so we were able to watch Monsters University. Super hilarious and entertaining! You gotta see this one. The kids enjoyed it so much. Thanks Sis for the movie treat. 

We also want to watch Despicable Me 2 but maybe we'll have to look for a movie house with less crowd. Here's our next movie to watch. Kids are excited to see The Smurfs!

Fashion: Spring 2013 Faves

In the spirit of  keeping us fab and fabulous this 2013, I'msharing with you once again what's hot (or could be flop) in fashion. www.Stylebible.com came out with a wide range of wearables and here are some of my fave picks.

Before anything else, here lemme share 2013's color palette. You must have heard that emerald is the lucky color of the year and I heard some of my friends say they're gonna hoard lots of emerald colored outfits. Haha! I hope we're all lucky and beautiful this year :)

Drop waist dresses - my ultimate fave. My mom used to make me drop waist dresses as a kid and I love how it hugs the upper hip then goes full bloom from just above the tush to the knee. So sassy :)

At dahil uto-uto ako sa fashion, I can't help but grab this dress from the Mango shelf during it's sale day last week. Love the drop wait design :)

GT - Look Your Best

It's GT day! Today, the girls are sharing their fave outfit. That ultimate wardrobe that makes us feel special, pretty and comfy and for me it's gotta be this cowl purple dress. There's something about cowls that I love. I guess it brings back memories of those dresses that my mom made for me when I was a kid. I used to don dresses with cowl necks and open backs. One dress even had butterfly sleeves.

Growing up, I find this style very classic and I have several versions of this cut in my current wardrobe. This particular dress I wore to garden weddings, at work, to church and even during pregnancy.

It's The Season for Coats!

Can you feel that Christmas chill at night? Yep, may simoy Pasko na!

Aren't y'all excited?! It's the time for giving and receiving gifts, lotsa love and holidays cheers!

Most of all, it's the time to bring out those frocks and holidays outfits that we're kept for a while. Asan na ba ang fur coat ko? Lol.

No coat yet? Well, you still have time to hop to Cartimar Shopping Plaza in Pasay City and look for the only store the offers made-to-order winter clothes and jackets. Price varies, depends on the materials, design and length of the coat. I have a bunch of OFW relatives and this is the place to be for them before they head off abroad.

I'm feeling these designs, the layered front jackey. I see it in many Korean shows, It gives the classic trench a  'now' look. Wonder how much for a costumized one?

Since we're on the topic of coats, see this mini model? She donned her new outfit straight from the Balikbayan box, excited much. Notice the ill fitting boots? They're really for her brother.

GT: Orangey!

With this topic on at GT, I just realized now that I don't have anything orangey in my closet. Except for the sweater which I wore while I was pregnant with Sam (see pics below with the Survivors cuties). I remember also receiving Xoxo wallet and check holder as a gift. Apart from that, no more orange thing for me. Not that I hate the color, I'm just more of a red person :)

Here's another orangey photo, a cathedral in Iloilo. Now, when it comes to photos I just love warm orange colors of a dimmed light or sunset. I took this at past midnight as we were going back to the hotel. With only the street lights as source of light for me, the structure gave off a very warm orangey color :)

To cap off this post, I'm so contemplating on getting a satchel bag soon and considering this color. I found one in Robinson's Galleria that's less than 2K. SO. CUTE! Whatchathink?

Melissa: Jelly Shoes with the Candy Scent

These cutesies definitely lifted my spirits! Got myself new pairs of Melissa shoes on sale here at work :0 

I haven't tried jelly shoes and these are my first (and second hehe) pair of jelly shoes. Melissa is a brand from Brazil.

I must agree they're comfy although some say they're not advisable to wear on really hot weather (mainit sa paa). Buti na lang rainy season na. This morning I brought (yes, bitbit ko lang kasi I usually change shoes sa parking na) the pink pair to work and while in the car I can smell the candy scent from inside the plastic bag. I let husband smell it (he thinks it's too expensive for a pair of shoes kasi goma lang). 

Husband: 'hmm, oo nga mabango.' 

Me: 'O di ba! Ako naman. Hmmm, nakaka-adik. O ikaw naman...'

Husband : giving me the weird look

Me: session na 'to. O hithit ka na!

Trip lang sa gitna ng Edsa traffic!

 Ang solusyon sa ulan at baha sa Metro Manila, bota na may velcro!

Another nice thought about this purchase is that proceeds will go to the Kapuso School Development (KSD) kids. Fashion and charity came hand in hand :)

My Fave Polish

I can't remember when I started painting my nails but I know I have been introduced to Caronia at an early age. I got so hooked at mani and pedi that years ago I decided to learn how to do my own nails since it's getting a wee bit expensive of a bisyo.
I still go to the salon,though, when I feel I deserve a foot spa before a pedicure. I'm not very particular with spa salons as long as they don't look 'suspicious', if you know what I mean :)

A few months ago, I discovered Kaya Hair Studio in Fairview and found this amazing nail polish brand. It's Konad and it comes in candy colors. Konad is a Korean brand, the best thing about it is that it doesn't stain your nails and it doesn't chip easily unlike some brands (yes, even the expensive brands chip easily, I Wonder why? :) ).

Even the little girl got her 'cleaning' and pedicure. She loved mommy's nails and she wants to have hers done too.

Fashion: Ukay Finds

Got all these stuff at an ukay store in Fairview Center Mall.

Not in photo, black cordoroy knee-length skirt. I happily went home with my ukay finds. I got these stuff the same day I found out I had kidney stone so this was like a cheap thrill for me. When I got home, I got a basin and personally washed the clothes, soaked them in hot water with laundry disinfectant, rinsed and soaked in fabric conditioner after. The thing with ukay finds, you have to soak them in Lysol and hot water just to make sure their bacteria-free.
